4 Elements Of Your Perfect Sunroom

Summer is the perfect time of year to enjoy your sunroom. And if you don’t have one, now is a good time to start making plans for one. Sunrooms are filled with sunlight and bring a piece of sunny “vacationlands” to our homes during the colder months (bring on the vitamin D). Here are some things to consider while designing your new space!

Make your sunroom feel like an extension of your home by using the same color pallets found in other rooms of your house. You want to keep it feeling bright so stay away from too many dark colors in the furnishings and paint colors.

Bring in an outside feel with a brick or stone floor option or stick to more traditional wood or tile floors. Finish it off with area rugs to make your space feel comfy. Adding different textures brings a relaxed and eclectic flair to the sunroom.

Make your sunroom a second living room by bringing in comfy furniture that you can relax on. An "interior style" upholstered leather or fabric sofa paired with soft throw blankets and pillows will give the space a more comfortable feel. Wickers and wovens are a go-tos if you want to give it with a more outdoor feel!

Though sunrooms aren't always climate controlled, you can continue to enjoy your sunroom in the colder months by adding a fireplace or portable heaters. It’s also a good idea to install a ceiling fan to cool the room down when it is hot outside.
