Kitchen Remodel Tips

Thinking about a kitchen remodel? We have a few tips and tricks to set your family up for success while you have limited access to your kitchen. Our number one tip for survival: Always remember that this will only last a little while, and when the project is finished you will be able to enjoy your beautiful new kitchen!

1. The Temporary Kitchen
Eating out can get expensive during a kitchen remodel. Try to find a space in your home where you can set up a temporary prep space to be able to prepare a few meals while the remodel is happening.

2. Hideaway the Non-Essentials
Chances are, you can live without your waffle iron for a little while. Stow it out of the way until it's new home is ready. Move the most used appliances that you can't live without over to your temporary kitchen (but remember, less is more).

3. Rely on Small Appliances
Toaster ovens and microwaves are great small appliances that get the job done and don't take up too much room. Don't forget about the coffee maker, you won't want to live without that through the remodel!

4. Gather Snacks and Disposables
Non-perishable items that don't need to be refrigerated are a plus during a kitchen remodel. If your refrigerator doesn't fit in your temporary kitchen it could be a good idea to invest in a mini fridge to put the perishables that your family can't live without. Stock up on biodegradable plates, cups, and utensils since your kitchen sink and dishwasher will be out of commission for a little while.

5. Use the Grill!
If your remodel is happening in warmer months, break out the grill! The toaster oven and microwave can only do so much. Who doesn't love a burger or hot dog on a summer evening?
